Who We Are

Brownwood Professional Firefighters Association Local 2863 was established in 1981 and is the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for all the non-exempt employees of the Brownwood Fire Department. We are currently at 99% membership.

We are affiliates of the Texas State Association of Firefighters and the International Association of Firefighters who give us a voice at the State and National level. The members of Local 2863 respond daily to emergencies both in Brownwood and in Brown County responding to over 2400 calls a year. We are committed to providing our citizens with a professional service.

We the members of the Brownwood Professional Firefighters Association will not strike nor be involved in any sympathetic strike due to the nature of our job being detrimental to the safety of our community.
